विधानसभा चुनाव : महाराष्ट्र में भाजपा-शिवसेना गठबंधन बहुमत, हरियाणा में ‘त्रिशंकु’ विधानसभा के आसार, खट्टर ने राज्यपाल से मांगा मिलने का समय

मुंबई। महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा चुनाव की मतगणना जारी है। कुल 288 सीटों में से अब तक 169 सीटों के नतीजे घोषित किए जा चुके हैं। भाजपा-शिवसेना गठबंधन 95 सीटें जीत चुका है, जबकि 59 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए है। कांग्रेस-राकांपा गठबंधन अब तक 63 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज कर चुका है, जबकि 48 सीटों पर आगे है। अन्य दलों व निर्दलीयों ने अब तक 11 सीटें जीती हैं।

 मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस नागपुर दक्षिण-पश्चिम से चुनाव जीत गए हैं। उन्होंने अपने निकटतम प्रतिद्वंद्वी कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार डॉ. आशीष देशमुख को 36 हजार से अधिक मतों से पराजित किया। शिवसेना उम्मीदवार आदित्य ठाकरे मुंबई की वर्ली सीट से चुनाव जीत गए हैं। उन्होंने राकांपा उम्मीदवार सुरेश माने को 67,427 मतों से हराया।

फडणवीस सरकार के पांच मंत्री चुनाव हारे हैं। भाजपा उम्मीदवार एवं राज्य की महिला एवं बाल कल्याण मंत्री पंकजा मुंडे परली सीट से चुनाव हार गयी हैं। उनको राकांपा उम्मीदवार एवं विधानपरिषद में नेता प्रतिपक्ष धनंजय मुंडे ने 30 हजार से अधिक मतों से पराजित किया।

 फडणवीस सरकार के जो पांच मंत्री चुनाव हारे हैं उनमें पंकजा मुंडे, राम शिंदे, विजय शिवतारे, अर्जुन खोतकर व बाला भेगड़े शामिल हैं। विधानसभा उपाध्यक्ष विजयकुमार औटी भी चुनाव हार गए हैं।

कोथरूड सीट पर भाजपा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष चंद्रकांत पाटील भी चुनाव जीत गए हैं। पाटील को 54.07 प्रतिशत मत मिले। उन्होंने मनसे उम्मीदवार किशोर नाना शिंदे को 25 हजार से ज्यादा मतों से हराया। पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री एवं राकांपा उम्मीदवार अजित पवार बारामती सीट से चुनाव जीत गए हैं। उनको कुल 83.24 प्रतिशत मत मिले। उन्होंने भाजपा उम्मीदवार गोपीचंद कुंडलीक पडलकर को 165,265 मतों से पराजित किया।

पिछली बार भाजपा-शिवसेना अलग-अलग लड़ी थीं। इस बार दोनों का गठबंधन है। वर्ष 2014 के चुनाव में भाजपा 122 और शिवसेना 63 सीटें जीती थीं।

बीड़ जिले की परली विधानसभा सीट से राज्य सरकार की महिला एवं बाल कल्याण मंत्री पंकजा मुंडे चुनाव हार गयी हैं। पंकजा को उनके चचेरे भाई राकांपा उम्मीदवार धनंजय मुंडे ने करीब 30 हजार से ज्यादा मतों से पराजित किया। धनंजय राज्य विधानपरिषद में नेता प्रतिपक्ष भी हैं। धनंजय को 1,22,114 मत मिले, जबकि उनके निकटतम प्रतिद्वंद्वी पंकजा को 91,413 मत से ही संतोष करना पड़ा। पंकजा भाजपा के कद्दावर नेता दिवंगत गोपीनाथ मुंडे की बेटी हैं।

हरियाणा: भाजपा सबसे बड़ा दल लेकिन बहुमत से दूर

चंडीगढ़ । हरियाणा के चुनाव परिणाम में किसी भी राजनीतिक दल को पूर्ण बहुमत नहीं मिलने के बाद प्रदेश की राजनीति में अब जोड़तोड़ का खेल शुरू हो गया है। भाजपा 38 सीटों पर, कांग्रेस 33 पर आगे, जजपा के 10 प्रत्याशी आगे। चुनाव परिणाम के तुरंत बाद ही यह खेल शुरू हो चुका है। भाजपा और कांग्रेस ने जहां जननायक जनता पार्टी और निर्दलीय विधायकों पर डोरे डालने शुरू कर दिए हैं वहीं पर्दे के पीछे होने वाला खेल भी इसके साथ ही शुरू हो गया है।

90 विधायकों वाली हरियाणा विधानसभा में सरकार बनाने के लिए 46 विधायकों की जरूरत है। ऐसे में सरकार बनाने के लिए भाजपा व कांग्रेस दोनों को ही विधायकों का बहुमत जुटाना पड़ेगा। इसके लिए जोड़तोड़ शुरू हो गया है।

भाजपा ने जहां एनडीए के सबसे वरिष्ठ नेता पंजाब के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री प्रकाश सिंह बादल से आग्रह किया है कि वह दुष्यंत चौटाला और अभय चौटाला को भाजपा को समर्थन देने के लिए राजी करें वहीं कांग्रेस की तरफ से इस मामले में पहल करते हुए पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा ने भाजपा को छोडक़र सभी राजनीतिक दलों के विधायकों को आह्वान किया है कि भाजपा को सत्ता में आने से रोकने के लिए सभी एकजुट होकर महागठबंधन के बैनर तले नई सरकार का गठन करें।

हुड्डा ने इनेलो, जजपा, हलोपा व निर्दलीय विधायकों को एकजुट होने का आह्वान किया है। हालांकि जननायक जनता पार्टी के नेता दुष्यंत चौटाला ने कोई भी राजनीतिक फैसला लेने के लिए शुक्रवार को दिल्ली में सभी विधायकों की बैठक बुला ली है। इस बैठक में कांग्रेस या भाजपा को समर्थन देने के संबंध में फैसला किया जाएगा।

इसी दौरान इनेलो नेता एवं ऐलनाबाद से विधायक बने चौधरी अभय सिंह चौटाला ने हुड्डा के प्रस्ताव को खारिज करते हुए कहा कि इनेलो कभी भी कांग्रेस का समर्थन नहीं करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी ने षड्यंत्र के तहत इनेलो सुप्रीमो चौधरी ओमप्रकाश चौटाला और अजय सिंह चौटाला को जेल की सजा करवाई थी। जिस पार्टी ने इस प्रकार का षड्यंत्र करते हुए उसके शीर्ष नेताओं को झूठे केस में फंसाकर सजा दिलवाई हो, उसे इनेलो एवं उसके कार्यकर्ता कभी भी माफ नहीं कर सकते।

Modi-Xi agree to promote mutual learning among their civilisations

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have agreed to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations to achieve joint development and prosperity during their second informal summit in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, a Xinhua report said.

Xi and Modi held their second informal meeting in the picturesque Southern Indian town following their first in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in April 2018.

During Xi’s trip from his hotel in Chennai to Mahabalipuram, people from all walks of life lined the streets waving Chinese and Indian national flags, with young men and women in Indian traditional costumes singing and dancing, to welcome the Chinese President for his visit.

Xi recalled his successful meeting with Modi in Wuhan last year, which brought China-India relations into a new stage, and said that he was delighted to visit the state of Tamil Nadu to further learn about the country.

The two leaders held an extensive talk during the tour of the Mahabalipuram monuments “on dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations”.

Tamil Nadu, a maritime transit hub for cargoes in the ancient Silk Road, has a long history of exchanges with China and close connections with Beijing on maritime trade since ancient times, Xi said.

Both ancient civilizations with several thousand years of history, China and India have carried on their exchanges and mutual learning till this day, Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese President as saying.

The two countries’ ancestors have overcome various obstacles to carry out extensive exchanges and promote the development of literature, art, philosophy, and religion, which have greatly benefited both sides, Xi said.

Noting that China-India cultural and people-to-people exchanges bear great potential, Xi urged both countries to take the 70th anniversary of China-India diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to conduct broader and deeper cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

He also called on the two countries to jointly advocate and push forward dialogue and exchanges among different civilizations, so as to inject a more lasting driving force into the development of bilateral ties and continue to produce new glory for Asian civilizations.

The two leaders agreed that China and India should respect and learn from each other so as to jointly achieve common development and prosperity, as well as the great rejuvenation of the two civilizations, Xinhua added.

Apple starts selling Microsoft’s Xbox controller

Apple has started selling Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Controller in its online stores, after adding support for the gamepad in the latest software updates for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and the Mac.

The controller, spotted by MacRumors on Wednesday, costs $59.95. It is now available on both Apple’s and Microsoft’s websites.

As of now, Sony’s DualShock 4 has not appeared on Apple.com.

The Cupertino-based company has also introduced support for the PlayStation 4’s gamepad with iOS 13, iPadOS, tvOS 13 and macOS Catalina.

According to earlier reports, Microsoft was expected to introduce a mini Xbox priced around $60, especially for its Project xCloud.

Project xCloud is a vision for game-streaming technology that was introduced in October 2018 to complement Microsoft’s console hardware and to give gamers more choices.

The tiny box would be designed to make it easier for users to connect their Xbox controller to TVs and offer minimal processing power itself.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी पहुंचे ह्यूस्टन, ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में अमेरिका के साथ बड़ी डील, एमओयू साइन

 भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी अपने सात दिवसीय अमेरिकी दौरे पर रविवार को ह्यूस्टन पहुंच गए। प्रधानमंत्री का विमान ह्यूस्टन के जार्ज बुश इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट पर उतरा। प्रधानमंत्री का  ट्रेड ऐंड इंटरनेशनल अफेयर्स के निदेशक क्रिस्टफर ओल्सन और अन्य अमेरिकी आधिकारियों ने जोरदार स्वागत किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने अपने दौरे के पहले दिन ऊर्जा क्षेत्र की कंपनियों के सीईओ के साथ बैठक की।

यह बैठक स्थानीय होटल पोस्ट ओक में हुई। इस दौरान टेल्यूरिन और पेट्रोनेट के साथ पांच मिलियन टन लिक्विफाइड नेचुरल गैस (एलएनजी) के लिए मेमोरेंडम ऑफ अंडरस्टैंडिंग ( एमओयू) पर साइन किया गया। टेल्यूरियन और पेट्रोनेट ने स्थानांतरण अनुबंध को मार्च 2020 तक अंतिम रूप देने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया है। टेल्यूरियन ने फरवरी में पेट्रोनेट एलएनजी लिमिटेड इंडिया (पीएलएल) के साथ एक एमओयू साइन किया था। इसका उद्देश्य पीएलएल ड्रिफ्टवुड परियोजना में निवेश की संभावनाएं तलाशना था।

बैठक के बाद प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने ह्यूस्टन में रह रहे सिख समुदाय के लोगों से मुलाकात की। सिख समुदाय के लोगों ने प्रधानमंत्री के फैसलों की सराहना की। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री को ज्ञापन सौंपा। सिख सुमदाय ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी से आग्रह किया है वे 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों पर बोलें। ज्ञापन में दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट का नाम बदलकर गुरुनानक देव अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा रखने की अपील की गई।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी रविवार को अपने सम्मान में आयोजित होने वाले कार्यक्रम हाउडी मोदी में हिस्सा लेंगे। उनके साथ अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप भी मौजूद रहेंगे। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन टेक्सास इंडिया फोरम ने किया है। इस कार्यक्रम में 50 हजार से ज्यादा लोग हिस्सा लेंगे। मोदी अमेरिका प्रवास के दौरान  50 किलोवाट क्षमता के गांधी सोलर पार्क का उद्घाटन भी करेंगे।

Google finally rolling out dark mode for Gmail on Android

Google has started rolling out the dark mode for its Gmail app Android, over a week after the release of Android 10.

The latest version of the Gmail app for Android is said to be available with version 2019.08.18.267044774, which is currently available on Play Store.

To access the Gmail app’s dark mode, Pixel users with Android 10 need to download the latest version of Gmail on their phone. Then, they can go to settings, select the “theme” option, and chose between light, dark and a system default option, CNET reported on Wednesday.

As per the report, the dark option will turn the background of the Gmail app dark gray, along with all the inbox folders and most emails.

US-based search engine giant teased the dark-themed Gmail app along with other new features on the Android website when Android 10 was launched.

To recall, Google first started testing the dark mode on Android earlier this year, when it started rolling it out for a handful of users.

जलियांवाला बाग में दंडवत होकर ब्रिटिश बिशप जस्टिन पोर्टल वेल्बे ने मांगी माफी बोले, शर्मिंदा हूं

ब्रिटिश ईसाई धर्मगुरु आर्कबिशप ऑफ कैंटरबरी जस्टिन पोर्टल वेल्बी ने जलियांवाला बाग घटना पर दुख जताया। उन्होंने यहां विजिटर बुक में लिखा कि उन्हें इस घटना पर बेहद शर्मिंदगी महसूस होती है। आर्कबिशप ने इस दौरान प्रार्थना भी की जिसमें उन्होंने परमात्मा से इस घृणित कार्य के लिए माफी मांगी।

अमृतसर पहुंचे। उन्होंने जलियांवाला बाग में स्थित शहीदी लाट पर दंडवत प्रणाम कर शहीदों को नमन किया। उन्होंने इस दौरान कहा कि शहीदों की यह यादगार सदा जीवित रहेगी। यहां होने वाले अपराध के लिए उन्हें खेद है।

एक धार्मिक नेता के रूप में वह इस दुखद घटना पर शोक प्रकट करते हैं। उन्होंने वर्ष 1919 में बैसाखी वाले दिन अंग्रेज हुकूमत के जनरल माइकल ओ डायर के आदेश पर किए गए नरसंहार की घटना पर असंतोष जताया।

नरसंहार में मारे गए लोगों को श्रद्धांजलि देने के बाद जस्टिन वेल्बी ने कहा, ‘मैं ब्रिटिश सरकार के लिए तो कुछ नहीं कह सकता। ना ही मैं सरकार का प्रवक्ता हूं लेकिन मैं ईश्वर के नाम पर बोल सकता हूं। यह पाप और मुक्ति का स्थान है। आपने याद रखा है कि उन्होंने क्या किया और उनकी यादें जिंदा रहेंगी। यहां हुए अपराध और उसके प्रभाव को लेकर मैं बहुत दुखी और शर्मिंदा हूं। धार्मिक नेता होने के चलते मैं इसपर शोक व्यक्त करता हूं।’
अपने दस दिवसीय भारत दौरे के आखिरी चरण में बिशप ने कहा, ‘मैं एक धर्मगुरु हूं, राजनीतिज्ञ नहीं। एक धार्मिक नेता के रूप में, मैं त्रासदी पर शोक मनाता हूं।यहां मैं लोगों के दुख को महसूस करने और ब्रिटिश लोगों की गोलियों से मारे गए लोगों की मौत पर पछतावा व्यक्त करने आता हूं।’

आर्कबिशप ने यहां विजिटर बुक में इस अत्याचार को लेकर एक बार फिर से अपनी भावनाएं नहीं रोक सके। उन्होंने लिखा, ‘यह बहुत ही दुखद है और सौ साल पहले इस तरह के अत्याचारों को देखने वाली इस जगह की यात्रा करने में मुझे शर्म आ रही है। मेरी भावनाएं भड़क रही हैं।’

गौरतलब है कि 13 अप्रैल 1919 को ब्रिटिश इंडियन आर्मी के सैनिकों ने जनरल डायर के आदेश पर मशीनगन से निहत्थे लोगों को गोलियों से भून डाला था। ये लोग स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों सत्य पाल और सैफुद्दीन किचलू की गिरफ्तारी का विरोध करने इकट्ठा हुए थे। इस घटना के 100 साल बीत जाने के बाद भी ब्रिटेन ने इसके लिए औपचारिक तौर पर माफी नहीं मांगी है।

यह पूछे जाने पर कि क्या वह ब्रिटिश सरकार से वह औपचारिक माफी मांगने के लिए कहेंगे? उन्होंने जवाब दिया, ‘मुझे लगता है कि मैं जो महसूस करता हूं, उसके बारे में बहुत स्पष्ट हूं और मैं इसे इंग्लैंड में प्रसारित करूंगा।’

Trumping Trump’s unpredictability, makes India-US ties win-win

Given US President Donald Trumps unpredictability, India has been well prepared to meet and match his every mood, whether on trade or on Kashmir, as the successful conclusion and outcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meetings with his show.

Even before his meeting with PM Modi in Osaka on the sidelines of the G20 in June, President Trump had taken to Twitter to vent irritation over India hiking its tariffs on US agricultural and industrial imports in retaliation to the US raising the tariff on steel and aluminium imports from India. “Unacceptable”, said the president, demanding that the tariffs be withdrawn.

Having realised by now the US President’s unpredictability, India has been going for meetings with him well prepared, and preferring to look at the larger picture in ties rather than getting bogged down with his utterances.

In a pointer to the burgeoning trade ties and just how mutually beneficial the relationship is — India-US bilateral trade reached $142 billion in 2018, witnessing a sevenfold increase since 2001 — and is expected to jump to $500 billion in five years.

Thus, rather than taking umbrage at the president’s testy language, Indian officials have been working with their US counterparts behind the scenes to soothe over the ruffles in ties.
And it has worked. For in his meeting with PM Modi in Biarritz, France, on the sidelines of the G7, President Trump did not mention his irritation over any trade issue. 

Being a hugely successful businessman, the US president understands the language of buy and sell and profit well, and anything that benefits his country is always a good thing.

On Kashmir, President Trump gave India some tense moments when he said in July that he would like to meditate on the issue and that PM Modi had suggested this to him during their Osaka meeting. India denied that PM Modi ever said such a thing and stressed that Kashmir is a bilateral matter.

India is now well prepared to tackle the US president’s unpredictable utterances. New Delhi now says just enough to convey its message, without going into any kind of quibbling over the wordings of what Trump has said, and prefers to work with US administration officials who know just how important the ties are.

Since Trump would be happy with anything that stands to benefit his country, India has already promised to buy more shale oil, with $4 billion worth of imports already in the pipeline. Indian ventures in the US are also creating jobs in the US. A CII report last year said that Indian companies have created more than 113,000 jobs in the US and invested nearly $18 billion in the country.

In the defence arena too, India has managed to soothe over US concerns over purchase of Russian S-400 Triumf missile systems. India’s defence purchases from the US, which stand at $ 18 billion since 2008, are set to rise with New Delhi lining up defence deals worth $10 billion over the next few years, which would obviously please the US president.

India has already bought C-17 and C-130J transport planes, the P-8i maritime reconnaissance aircraft, Harpoon missiles, Apache and Chinook helicopters and M777 howitzers. India is set to buy 10 more of the state-of-the-art P-8 aircraft, armed with Harpoon missiles and torpedoes, and more MH-60 Romeo helicopters and Apache attack helicopters.

These deals are beneficial to the US, and the president understands this well. So, when the two leaders met in Biarritz, there was affability in the air, and the US president voiced confidence in India’s ability to manage Kashmir, and most importantly Pakistan.

It is not just India that has been studying the US president’s moves. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had tried his luck too during his meeting with Trump on July 22 in Washington. With his country having virtually nothing to offer in terms of business and relying heavily on US aid, Imran Khan had taken to flattery and played the Afghan card to win over the US president and made him utter his offer to mediate on Kashmir.

Pakistan thought it was victory, and hoped to build on it. But it has come to nought.
